I know I haven't written much lately but this is because I have been housebound and bored because of non stop rain. There are only so many visits to the Metropole a person can make...
Yesterday I was walking home from the Metropole when it momentarily stopped raining, as Amaia had fallen asleep in her buggy I decided to prolong the walk and get some fresh air. We walked along Boulevard des Moulins as I always do as it's flat and long compared to other Monaco streets when across the road a red dress caught my eye. Being almost seven months pregnant I have lost enthusiasm for shopping but when I saw this dress something stirred. I crossed over and checked it out. It's a strappy summer number and totally unsuitable due to price and cut out panels at the side but if it had been more modest and cheaper it was definitely my type of dress. Of course this made me think about what other dresses are out there for Summer that I am totally ignoring, after all I do hope to be a normal size again one day!
Yesterday afternoon whilst Amaia slept I wasted time browsing expensive websites with beautiful dresses, I saw a couple that could have tempted me but thankfully I am still sensible enough not to buy anything that isn't machine washable and cannot justify its cost per wear, especially while babies are in the picture!
Then today I met a friend for coffee, yes, at the Metropole and after we had a little wander. I found a gorgeous, feminine, tailored red dress which I instantly fell in love with. It was less than half the price of yesterday's window dress and yet looked more expensive and totally classic in style. I truly considered buying it but there was something about the style that told me this was the kind of dress that may look better hanging on a hanger than on a person. So, it looks like my desire to shop normal non pregnancy clothes is back and I am itching to make a purchase... It's got to be red and beautiful and amazing to celebrate my release from maternity wear. Watch this space...
