Shattered...

One of the reasons I haven't been writing is because by the time Amaia is asleep I am truly shattered and I still have to tidy up the day's mess and throw together some excuse for a dinner.

Today was another exhausting day. Amaia is still running on Summer Time meaning she is awake at 06h00 and ready for her day. We try to stall her by throwing a few toys in her cot whilst we have a sneaky lie in but generally once she's awake I'm awake.
Husband kindly offered me a lie in this morning while he took care of her but I thought I'd skip that and have a siesta this afternoon. The morning went swimmingly. Amaia was smiley, cooperative and an absolute delight. We had our lunch and I put her to sleep. She didn't grumble which was unusual. I tidied, washed up and got into bed ready for a good, long siesta.... Only Amaia decided today she'd just have a 40 minute nap instead of her usual two hours. This is why I normally don't even try and sleep when she does because it just leads to disappointment and feeling even more tired. The day went downhill from there, she was tired and whingey, I was tired and whingey...

Anyway, she's asleep now and I have to prepare for an evening out - think I'm going to need some caffeine if I'm going to last the night! See ya!
