A little bit of everything...

At last. The cleaner has been so the flat is spotless and there are no chores to distract me. Husband is having dinner with a client so I don't have to worry about dinner. Amaia is asleep and I can finally dedicate some time to my blog. Hello again!

I'm not entirely sure what exciting news I am going to write about but hey, it's good to get back into it. Ha ha! I just found the mobile cable so I can download my latest photos which will give me some material...

So let's start with the torrential rain where we discovered that our flood proof cellar was in fact not flood proof despite the vasts amount of money spent supposedly making it flood proof. The whole area was on amber flood alert and we endured over 48 hours of torrential rain. I think the drainage system could have dealt with it if we didn't have a waterfall of water coming from the olive grove behind us which is what blocked the drains...

Thankfully husband took it all in his stride and sorted out pumps here and there to give the system more time to deal with the vasts amounts of water. He managed to rid the cellar of about a foot of water, plus cleared the garage and utility room too. He was a complete star. My way would have been clearance with a bucket - not as effective!!

We had quite a busy week last week socialising which was nice. On Wednesday we went to Baires with friends and enjoyed some delicious steak and mash. When I came home our baby sitter presented us with this...:

She had ironed every item of clothing she could find, she also found the time to tidy our bedroom, clean the kitchen and do the washing up. I am now seriously considering a night out whenever I need a quick tidy around the flat. She is amazing considering she only charges €10ph!!

Then for the weekend my cousin arrived with his girlfriend which obvioulsy included more socialising. We managed to have a beach lunch, dinner at Avenue 31 and a final lunch at Quai des Artistes. I think we all over indulged there...

This weekend we are all off to Paris for my cousin's 30th birthday. I think it will be the first full reunion since Amaia's Baptism in May. Of course he has reassured us that it is a relaxed lunch but that didn't stop me buying some new heels and a grey shift dress from Zara today. Yes, I know my wardrobe is overflowing with clothes but I really have nothing to wear for a 30th Birthday Lunch in Paris!!! Ok?!

It's getting late and I need to prepare my dinner so I shall leave you with this little gem:
