I guess after nearly four years of being a full time mama I am finally cruising. It hasn't suddenly become really easy but what it has become is soooooo much easIER! No more double buggy, no more buggy and buggy board, I'm either with a child that walks (Amaia), travelling on a bus or pushing the buggy (Leia). Now there are no endless preparation of snacks, drinks, bottle and nappies. Yes, Leia is still in nappies but that cumbersome nappy bag has been replaced by a packet of wet wipes and a spare nappy.
This is what i like to see. Progress. In September taking Leia with me to pick up Amaia from school was a nightmare, she'd not sit in the push chair, she'd throw tantrums, the crowded bus and buggy were incompatible and generally both girls would play up. Today I took Leia on the bus (no buggy), got off at the school, picked up Amaia (the girls hugging with delight after the long absence!), caught the bus home and even enjoyed the whole little adventure with my girls. Back at home I sorted out our dinner, played Hungry Hippos, watched a few episodes of Harry and his bucketful of Dinosaurs with Leia snuggled by my side and then read the same book five times before bed. No tantrums, no shouting just a general contentment all round. It was a totally uneventful evening but in my eyes it was completely magical. I am truly blessed.
