The Surprise was on Me!

The last couple of months I've kept a secret. My family were spending a weekend in Madrid and I was going to surprise them by turning up. Well, the surprise was on me!

I got to the hotel reception desk at 21h00 to be told they'd over booked and were sending me to another hotel. When I explained I needed to be in the same hotel as my six family members they said I could sleep in one of their rooms but otherwise I'd have to leave. My hopes for a "me" weekend with my family and without the girls were totally dashed. Not only that, they were just so dismissive of their error. I cannot sleep I am still so worked up about the whole incident and their complete lack of customer service and sympathy. And needless to say the hotel they sent me to may be their sister hotel but it is not as nice. No where near as nice. I don't want to be annoyed but I really am!

The good part of the evening was I did get to surprise my parents and it was lovely to see the look of surprise on everyone's faces. It's lovely that I have been given the chance to have this mini break too but unfortunately I still feel very cheated of my family weekend. I don't think I'll be rushing back to Madrid any time soon!
