Weirdest lunch ever

Today a friend and I tried out A'trego in Cap d'Ail for lunch. It opened last year and is supposedly a very cool place to eat. Hmmmm....

We arrived and were taken to our table. Despite the restaurant being half empty we were cramped into a table between two other couples eating. It was slightly too cosy for me. Then the lunch time menu offered three starters and three mains. I made my choices but was told we could share a selection of all three starters. Actually what we wanted was a la carte but our waiter had trouble understanding this and pushed on with the lunch time menu. I admit is was very reasonable and included two courses, wine, water and coffee for €28 but whilst I could tolerate gazpacho, salad Nicoise and sword fish carpaccio for starters I didn't want sea bream, steak and spaghetti bolognaise as a main, all on the same plate. The main was served with no salad or vegetables and was just the weirdest mix of food.

I will go back again. I will ask for a spacious table with a sea view and I will eat a la carte and I will decide if it's a keeper but right now I wouldn't recommend it.
