Out of my control...

I spent Wednesday morning at Princesse Grace Hospital getting ready for the big day. First of all I saw Dr Joly who is wonderfully relaxed and can't help but put you at ease too. I really hope he's there for the birth! We talked about maybe having the baby early to avoid the nightmare logistics of Grand Prix although nothing will be certain until my next appointment on the 18th May. Next up, a series of tests needed to be done before my meeting with the anaesthetist just to make sure I can have an epidural if I want to... And finally the admission paperwork to try and ensure a private room whilst I'm in hospital.

I wish I knew when the big day was and this lack of control really has too many "maybes" in the equation. Ideally I would like for the baby to be born and for my stay in the hospital to be over by the 26th May so that we are out of here for the Grand Prix weekend, if this isn't possible then I'd rather wait until the Grand Prix is over. Of course I have no say over this and it's up to Baby L so... There are advantages and disadvantages to both. If the baby is early then I maximise the time I have my parents here to help with the baby but if the baby comes later then Amaia will be more relaxed with not having me around and being with my mum and dad. Then there is the coordination of visitors to see too, who is coming and when we can expect them and where exactly will we be...

The good news is we have a flat for my parents. It is in the same location as the last and has a very similar layout. It has a balcony and sea view which I know they will enjoy and there is a little play ground next to the building which I am sure Amaia will be making full use of. Also, it's a five minute walk to the beach so I will be meeting my parents there on a daily basis for breakfast! And finally my dad gets to pass through the Market and various supermarkets on his way to my flat, perfect for his morning shop.

Right, that's enough for this morning got to see to Amaia now... Have a good day!
