On Thursday I received my baby books delivery, a whole selection of Gina Ford books on dealing with toddlers and then dealing with toddlers and a new born. I have no intention of sticking to Gina's regimented style but I do find her useful for tips and providing a general structure. I have already read one of the books "The contented toddler book" and it made me realize just what a good girl Amaia is, so far not providing us with any real problems on the eating or sleeping front. Of course this could all change when baby L arrives and she has to share my attention but so far so good... I haven't gotten far on the new born and toddler book and I really hope the book has a chapter on sharing bedrooms because that's what I'm most interested in. The children won't share immediately but I would like to make the move after a few months although I have no idea how realistic this is....
Other than that I'm enjoying a sleepless night with Nutella on digestives to keep me going,.. It is so painful sleeping. Every time I move I wake up and every time I get up my body aches just from not moving enough. It is easier being awake...
The last few days have been spent at the house. On Friday morning we received Amaia's new swing. Husband built it yesterday and she loves it. I also put together her princess tent which kept her entertained for a whole afternoon! I have worked out that our big bedroom balcony is actually a good place to play because it is a contained area so from now on there will definitely be some play timeout there. She is also making her own way up and down the private lane our house is on. Of course this can take ages, on Friday it took us half an hour to do this 200m because there were so many pebbles to pick up on the way! But it is very convenient having a closed off area she can walk around without cars and the walk iis a good enough activity in itself.
Yesterday we ordered some reclining chairs for the terrace, at least so my parents can sit comfortably outside during their stay. We also bought a stand for our hammock, it's not one of those chunky wooden ones which are more pleasing to the eye but not very good for storing.
We still haven't found exactly what we are looking for in terms of our garden furniture but at least we have some comfort for this summer. I hope when things are less hectic and Husband and I will be able to relax more in a few years time that we'll have our garden furniture sorted
to really enjoy but this summer... Highly unlikely!
It's 05h30, time to go. Have a good day!
