Pregnancy is a funny things, it leaves you feeling exhausted most of the day and then keeps you up half the night, hence for 04h30 post!
It's been a tough end to the week but Friday did finish on an indulgent high. From Wednesday onwards Amaia was hard work. Overnight it seems she has turned into a terrible toddler with tears and tantrums becoming a regular feature to our day. She is almost walking and can pretty much access everything. She pulls herself up onto her tip toes and throws down anything within her grasp on the table. Of course what she really wants is the iPad or laptop but she will make do with phones and remote controls. Every time I take these off her she has a crying fit before she goes off to find something else she shouldn't be doing! Of course there have been some magical moments too. She loves being chased and has fits of giggles as I get closer, she has taken great delight knocking over all the building block towers I've built, she allows more cuddles and is getting into the habit of kissing but her kisses are more like friendly bites! Plus she's been sleeping a good 12 hours most nights which is great.
Thankfully things started to turn around late yesterday morning after a lot of tears Amaia fell asleep giving me some much needed chore time followed by an episode of Brothers and Sisters. She was all smiles when she woke up and we had a drama free lunch and a whinge free play time till Amelie arrived. I then managed to fit in a quick Carrefour shop for some much needed snacks, cokes and ice-cream to celebrate the arrival of the weekend. Then it was off to the beauticians for a "free" facial which was heavenly. I am sure I fell asleep... My dry and tired skin got a bit of a boost and I then spent too much on products that really won't have the same impact as several good nights' sleep but I live in hope.
Back home Amaia continued to be on her best behaviour and there were no tears or tantrums. In fact she was all smiles and laughter until bedtime where she fell asleep without a whimper of protest. Husband and I then started our indulgent evening by opening the snacks whilst waiting for our takeaway which I wolfed down and then proceeded to eat three quarters of a tub of Haagen Dazs! Very naughty but very needed.
Next week I am in Spain so hopefully it will be a better week. Will keep you posted. Promise!
