I am in Valencia. We arrived a little later than planned but overall had a great journey. Amaia was ridiculously well behaved, I barely recognised my own daughter! She spent most of the first flight sitting on the seat next to mine, facing the aisle and trying to make contact with other passengers. I even got to read a magazine article or two!! The second flight was spent fascinated by the coat hook on the back of the seat in front.
On top of that we had a good play break between flights as Madrid airport has excellent and very clean child facilities - a padded play area , sleeping area, kitchen and changing/bathing area. We played on the slide and in the ball pit and had a civilised lunch using a highchair. Amaia loved it. It really does make for a break in the journey and I wish other airports provided such an amazing service.
Now I´m relaxing with my parents, stuffed with home cooking and sooooooo ready for bed - after a 04h45 start. I´ve already hit the local supermarket and stocked up on wetwipes (the best I´ve sound so far), cleaning wipes, dental floss and smelly sachets for wardrobes and cupboards. As you can see a very exciting shop.
Tomorrow we hit the new Primark store. The last of the big spenders has arrived!!
