Snow

On Saturday my parents arrived safely and we celebrated with a lovely dinner at Baires. Delicious! We headed home around midnight and my parents were delighted with the mild temperature and snow free streets.

After three weeks of snow in Stuttgart they were eager to see some warmth and sunshine - Mediterranean style. So, imagine how I felt when I woke up the next morning and looked out of the window to see SNOW!!! SNOW! Yes, I said SNOW!!! All my promises of sea views, blue skies and al fresco lunches were tossed aside as I watched the big fluffy white flakes fall though fortunately not settle. I called my parents and told them to stay put. I had told them not to bring their winter coats, scarves and gloves because I had already started wearing my lighter jackets. They would freeze if they stepped outside. (OK slight exaggeration but they definitely would be cold and that was not my plan!).

Fortunately all good and bad things must come to an end and by 10h30 the snow had stopped and you could see signs of the sun struggling to break through over Italy. The promise of a blue sky lay ahead. Phew!

Now, no more weather surprises PLEASE.
