Summer Days

This Summer has certainly been low key. I can go for days without leaving the house. I can count the number of times I've been out for dinner or lunch. I haven't on line shopped AT ALL!!

Instead the cooking/baking frenzy continues - curries, cookies and cakes! We've bought a badminton set for all of us to play on. We have increased our collection of games and scrabble has become a favourite.

The Summer bustle of the village doesn't appeal anymore. We have to wear masks in side shops, public spaces and when moving  inside restaurant, cafes and bars. I'd rather stay at home!

Everyday we hear about the rise in cases, possibly the highly anticipated second wave. Cities are being locked down in Spain and in England. France's cases are in freefall too. The media is full of dread and fear and uncertainty. Will we return to school in September? Can people fly off on their Summer holidays? Where is safe? Where should be avoided? There are no concrete answers as the situation is bound to shift again!

What an utter mess!!
