This week has been hard. I guess it started with the demands of the weekend, then having Leia at home and then the usual hectic Wednesday with girls' afternoon activities. Yesterday was the first day I felt like I was finally unwinding.
I couldn't shake off the mood all week and yet today feels like a different day where I have so much to be grateful for. And how better to capture that than with some pictures...
Leia at home on Monday making her lunch, scrambled eggs Gordon Ramsey style (she even washed up later!)
The girls happily playing on Sunday with their new Superhero capes and masks and a want?!
I was also banned from the area as I was being grumpy!!
Party ready!!!
Compared to other birthday parties we have attended Amaia’s was very old school. It involved a pass the parcel, a treasure hunt, musical statues, charades and then just simple playing. I converted the dining table into a den/Bat Cave and all the girls were super heroes. They had all won a super hero cape in the treasure hunt. There was plenty of food and drink and only one adult overseeing it all. ME! I actually had time out at one point and just sat on my bed reading!
I also loved the fact that neither girl chose to dress up for the occasion and in fact both chose something very similar to their school uniform, blue leggings and white t shirts! They have a ton of smarter clothes but I am going to embrace their lack of vanity and self consciousness. It is such a blessing considering the area they are growing up in!
So today I am grateful for all those things I took for granted over the last few days. The weekend beckons now. I am going to have a productive day and look forward to my weekend which includes lunch a deux with Husband at Cinq and Amaia’s birthday on Sunday.
Have good weekends all and Nancy I wish you a speedy recovery! X
