Champagne and socializing

On Thursday night I put the girls to bed and then put on my red party dress and tottered down to the Metropole for some very necessary adult time out. I went with a friend who I meet most days when we are on mummy duty. We'll head to the park or the beach together and we braved the children's Christmas party as a team. But on Thursday night we decided we would leave husbands at home baby sitting whilst we sipped champagne. It was a great night. We realised it was probably something missing in both our diaries, just some simple girlie time without the distraction of children. We did make the mistake of drinking and not eating anything more than a few olives and nuts but it won't happen again.

The next day, despite not having a great night's sleep I thought i felt fine and i was still on a high from the previous night. It wasn't until I got to the till at carrefour that I realised I must have been feeling delicate. I forgot to buy food and left with chocolate hobnobs, a flake and a tub of caramel shortbread squares!

This week I have a girls' Christmas dinner at Avenue 31 on Wednesday night, Amaia's Christmas party on Thursday morning and a recovery lunch at the Beef Bar on Thursday. I am also looking forward to taking the girls to Casino Square to see the Christmas lights and maybe have a hot chocolate in Cafe de Paris and then we have Father Christmas to visit and the magical Monaco Christmas market too. On top of that I have Joyce on tap as her other employers have disappeared to Australia for three months! Yay!

It's 3.30am I should try and sleep now....
