Second Child Syndrome

Both Husband and I are second children, I think this makes us less demanding and easier going than our older sisters. I have always teased my parents about the hardships a second child has to endure: less baby photos as the novelty has worn off, sharing attention, a childhood of hand me downs and being bossed about by a sibling not much older than you. But now I have a second child I get it and I feel so guilty. Yes, there are definitely less photos this time round. Yes Amaia definitely demands a lot of our attention and yes poor Leia is dressed in her sister's hand me downs. But this time round I'm also noticing less time for photos, Amaia's old clothes are lovely and as good as new and nicer than anything in the shops at the moment - I've checked! And both girls are now having to share my attention not just one. On the positive side Leia is getting an experienced and more relaxed mama who is much more hands on the second time around. Let's just hope Leia isn't as stroppy as me and can appreciate that!
