This time it wasn't for me but for a friend. Present shopping in Monaco is tough - it's either a frame from Habitat, a scented candle from the Metropole or Molten Brown/ L'Occitane toiletries because everything else is soooo expensive. But this time I was going to break away from the usual, I was going to buy a fan.
I walked along Boulevard de Moulins and looked in the window of Davina, a shop I have NEVER been into. Everything seemed beyond my budget. I went to the Metropole and found a fan but it was about €80 over priced! I decided to visit Habitat - nothing there. And then I thought I'd go to Newton Bay and see what they had but I never made it there. Instead I decided to go back to Davina and actually go inside! It's only taken me six years!!! I went inside and it is a very tempting shop with lots of pretty, sparkling things that surprisingly range from €3 (which I wasn't expecting) to several hundred. More surprisingly the shop assistant was lovely and helpful when I asked to see the fans she showed me several that I didn't like. When I explained it was a gift she was considerate enough to mention that at €90 they were an expensive gift. In the end I chose some earrings - withing budget and pretty. I also found a simple hairband that I thought I'd treat myself to until at the till the assistant told me it was €45!! Er, no thanks. She showed me some in the smae style for €5 - yes, that's more like it! (Was the shop assistant being considerate or do I just look poor!!?!)
So, overall a productive day with some lessons learnt (Six years of shopping missed because I assumed a shop was expensive. What a waste!) and a little shopping thrown in too.

Hahaha wow, sounds like an interesting day! 6 whole years of shopping missed?! Ahh, it's amazing what you can find sometimes when you just look inside a shop :)
