Despite having such great help around the house and with Amaia I still seem to have very little time for myself. Those endless hours on the internet are definitely a thing of the past. As is a proper night's sleep. As is doing anything spontaneous. As is having a leisurely lunch or dinner or breakfast for that matter. As is an afternoon at the Metropole bar. But, you know, it has been replaced by Amaia and it is so totally worth it. She is an angel and I am totally smitten!
It has been a real learning curve. We have had the uneasy afternoon Amaia, we have had the sleep all day Amaia, we haven't yet met the sleep all night Amaia (I'm looking forward to meeting her!), we've met the insatiable appetite Amaia, the explosive nappies Amaia, the serene Amaia, the stroppy Amaia, the "give me space" Amaia and the angelic Amaia (this was particularly appreciated during our lunches at Ariston and Miami Plage).
We have had an endless stream of family visiting and we still have a few more weekends of visitors to look forward too. The gifts and good wishes have been plentiful and so, so, so generous. Thank you.
I have had a couple of "girlie" outings. My sister came to meet Amaia and we got to enjoy some quality time together sipping cocktails at the Metropole bar (Amaia was safe bonding with her papa and iaio). My friend Lee flew over from London and treated me to lunch at Baires followed by a celebratory drink at the American Bar in Hotel de Paris.
Aswell as enjoying this precious period of my life I am also deliriously happy about losing all my baby weight and fitting into my normal size 10 Top Shop jeans in less than three weeks. AND I WASN'T EVEN TRYING!! OK, I need to hit the gym and tone up but the hard work has been done - eating EVERYTHING I want! I know it may sound shallow but hey, at least I'm not wallowing around depressed because I can't shift the baby weight.
Right, that's all for now - more soon.
